Data Requirement

The Waste Flow Diagram (WFD) is made to be as low on data requirement as possible, requiring only the following inputs:

This data collection process is supported via integration with the SDG 11.6.1 methodology. This detailed methodology provides guidance on how to calculate the majority of these data points. This is supplemented by the WFD User Manual which explains how these inputs directly relate to the Waste Flow Diagram toolkit.

For cities or municipalities which lack the resources to perform primary data collection, secondary data may be applied instead relating to either data from nearby similar areas, or default values as provided by the toolkit.
